A new chapter… same story… Ankara, white shirt, head tie & Converse

Ankara & White Tee & ConverseCan you believe we are half way through 2017? Geez.. June already?…. Time and tide wait for no man say, Chinua Achebe.. oh boy time is ticking very fast… or is this just me. On that note, happy new month and welcome to winter all my Aussie folks. How are you all doing? I am doing and feeling great. I’m also feeling pumped and ready for what the rest of 2017 will bring me. I’m starting a new job this month. I feel like each year is changing jobs.. well it’s more like changing workplaces because am still doing the same job with added responsibility….for those of you who don’t know I am a Compliance Officer. I specialise in AML/CTF and Sanctions…. I will let you research on it if you are too curious. I thank God for his continually Grace upon my life because I love improving myself and the booze of new challenge excites me. I hope you are also noticing the change in my vibe and pictures because am stepping up my game (that’s the aim). You all have been a tremendous support to me, always pushing me. I’m thankful for you all.

outfit1Ok, before I talk about this casual feel outfit today. I just wanted to empower and motivate you in my little way….like I do all the time (hahaha)… So on Monday (29/5/17), I woke up and the devotion topic was ‘you have what it take to become successful’.. By the way Daughters of the King is the devotional I read at the moment.. download the app it will be worth it). The topic woke me 100% up because am usually 70% reading my devotions as I don’t like waking up for work ( the struggle), but this one got to me (they all do though). After reading it, I felt energised and empowered by this reminder because I was wasn’t feeling great the past few weeks.. which I know we all do at times.

A summary of the devotion was, don’t be envious of anyone because you also have what it takes to be successful in your chosen field. God has given us Grace, favour, and his hand is upon our lives. We should not limit ourselves and be envious because that’s an indication that we do not believe in ourselves and have no faith that we have what it takes. We all possess supernatural power and the ability to produce remarkable things. So take ownership and go ahead and start because God is one our side and he has favoured us to rise above all the obstacles. So confess it, and I dare you to believe it and see how God can make it possible.

With my motivation chit-chat out of the way, we can talk about my outfit now. Ok, do you have that one white button down shirt that is the workhorse in your closet, well this Gap shirt is the workhorse in my closet? I wear it so much that I take extra care of it because it’s serving me well (hahaha). Anyways, I know you guys remember this two piece Ankara set I did a post on not too long ago (here), I decided to play around with it and make it extra cool.

Outfit One:

This look is for those casual days when you want to be casual but remains fresh. You good old Chuck Taylor all star no matter how dirty they are they still look cool and give any look that edge feel. I fold the pants just to give the look that a bit of twist to it. P.s don’t you just love the Pom Pom earrings.. they are such a statement and can make any outfit pop.

Outfit two:

Same items, but I decided to hype it up a little. So I switch the shoe, handbag and add a denim jacket to the mix ..by the way, block heels are my go to now.. comfort to me is key. This look is best for an afternoon lunch date or out with the girls, not too casual neither formal, but you still look chic.
